Market Drayton - Shropshire
We stayed in a cottage on the Buntingsdale Estate near Market Drayton.
The really good news was that the estate had a private lake with tench and carp.
Market Drayton was a bit downbeat, but Shrewsbury (see photo of alley below) and the Wedgwood Factory (second picture set) were well worth the visits.
We also found a rocking horse shop where they made really top quality horses and an old-fashioned sweet shop with lots of sweet jars.
The Wedgwood factory was fascinating. I hadn’t realised that so much hand-painting still took place. Who was to know then that in 2009 the company would go into administration.
