Insects
My aim is to make the garden wildlife friendly. The only plant that existed when we moved in was a buddleia bush, which has since grown and every year it proves to be a magnet for the butterflies.
I also planted some herb bushes and the fennel attracts lots of insects; in particular the hoverflies.
We also attract a fair number of bees although they’re tricky to photograph as they either disappear into the flower or flit to another one just as you press the shutter release.
